Our beginner Yoga classes allow you to learn to relax and improve your flexibility.
The beginning level of Jacksonville Yoga’s Anusara Yoga Classes share the Universal Principles of Alignment (developed by John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga).
Our class will start with a short, guided meditation, which will help you learn to pay attention to your breath, your body mechanics while sitting and to recognize the Greatness within you! We then move into some simple warm- up poses that open the hips (Rajakapotasona prep), hamstrings (Supta Padangusthasana), as well opening the upper body (Cactus, Salabhasana, Setubandhasana).
Our beginning sequence moves toward standing poses such as warrior 1 and 2 (Virabhadrasana), extended side pose (Parsvakonasana). We then move in some abdominal strengtheners, back strengtheners and end with seated poses such as: Janu Sirsasana, BaddhaKonasana, Supta Balasana. The class ends with Savasana, a pose of total relaxation.
You will leave each class feeling rejuvenated yet relaxed. Many people state that they sleep the best on the days of their Jacksonville Yoga classes.
