Life can be stressful. To be able to feel your best and enjoy life, every day, it’s important to find ways to relieve stress.
While you are in traffic, at the Mall, dealing with family gatherings just stop and take a deep breath. Try breathing in the nose and out the mouth. See if you can breath in to the count of just 3 at first. From there move it up to 5 or 8 counts. Feel the way your body and your mind with just release with this simple technique.
Check out a yoga class that is close by your home or office.
Having a qualified teacher guide you and help you thru breath work and poses make all the difference. When you sign up for a class, you will probably get more yoga done during an hour than you would on your own. There will be no distractions that normally get in your way. At our Jacksonville Yoga studio, we offer a variety of classes that help you learn how to achieve yoga poses that will help with stress.
- One of those poses is legs up the wall (as we call it). All you do is sit sideways against a wall, turn and put your legs up the wall and straighten out your upper body. Your body will be in the shape of a L.
Put an eyebag or a washcloth on your eyes to tune out the light.
If you are comfortable, stay there for 3 to 5 minutes (15 minutes is the best!). It is a wonderful way to “decompress”.
Want to find out more about how Yoga can help you reduce the stress in your life? Contact Joyce at Jacksonville Yoga, and get started feeling better. Namaste.

Sometimes we find ourselves challenged by events in our daily life.
Life is full of challenges. That will not change.
It is how we respond to these challenges that makes the difference in our lives.
Yoga helps us find peace and relaxation.
When you are challenged, remember the courage of this kid and the encouragement from his class mates! You’ll love it!

The 2011 Jacksonville Yoga Teacher Training group has completed their 200 hour Yoga course. Just look at this talented and beautiful group of fit and feeling Great ladies!
Deborah T.: I would recommend this training to anyone that wants to learn the proper way to align your body and self with the Divine beauty in all. Highly recommend this to help anyone grow physically and spiritually.
Rita K: By going to teacher training at JacksonvilleYoga.com monthly over a year, by applying the knowledge learned and by practicing in between, my body has finally connected to nature in a way it never has before. I can actually feel it aligning with nature. Things I know are bad for me, my body now rejects and responds the best to my yoga practice. Thank you!
Debby D. As an experienced instructor already, this training opened my heart to the heart expanding style of Yoga that was missing in my practice. Anusara has opened my eyes to having your goodness be the primary purpose for yoga. As a reflection of this training, my students have told me they feel a deeper connection to their hearts and to my heart. Thank you! It was exactly what I was searching for!
Marcy V. I signed up for the training with the goal of improving my personal practice. Of course, I achieved that but unexpectedly, I feel more open and blissful about my personal choices in life. The cherry on top is that I am excited about the opportunity to teach so that I can share my knowledge and “Purna” with others!
You can still sign up for our 2012 Jacksonville Yoga Teacher Training class which starts in March.

Although Jason is a highly functional autistic, he became manager of his high school basketball team, scored big in the final game of his senior year, and is now volunteering as assistant coach for his former high school’s junior varsity team; all because of his persistence and personal determination.
