Restore Your Curves

 

For years, I taught to bring the tailbone down and draw belly back.  What a perfect way to flatten the low back curve!  This alignment created herniation in L-4 and L-5 and the pain didn't stop without medication (that is hard on kidneys).  Not to mention, knee issues.

 Today the new instruction is "with the activation of the feet and knees, draw the top of the scrum in and tailbone goes up.  The belly moves FORWARD!!!  When you follow that instruction, you have just created a beautiful lumbar curve.  The glutes rise UP to protect your lower back.  Learning to "mound the glutes" takes time but the more this new instruction is entegrated, the less pain in low back, hips, and knees.  Whether you are seeking relief from stiffness, and more energized practice or simply and experience that feels natural, this method offers a refreshing new path.  Come and experience a movement that bends with you!
